Position Description:

The Integrations Engineering team is a vital component of the Infrastructure group within IT, serving as the connective tissue between various business departments. We are responsible for ensuring seamless integration of systems, hardware, and applications across the organization, with a particular focus on supporting the unique demands of our retail environment. Our team collaborates closely with departments such as Store Operations, Logistics, Development, and Digital Marketing, acting as a critical liaison for project implementation and support escalation. We excel in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that all integrated systems operate efficiently and reliably. Our work is foundational to the smooth functioning of our retail operations, from point-of-sale systems to back-office infrastructure to corporate data center and employee operations, and we play a key role in maintaining the technological backbone that powers our stores and corporate offices.

Job Summary:

As an Integrations Engineer, you will be a key player in the Infrastructure group, focusing on the integration of hardware and systems across our retail and corporate environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in building, deploying, and maintaining a robust and scalable infrastructure that supports our diverse technological needs. While you will also be involved in application integration and user access management, your primary focus will be on the hardware aspects of system integration, particularly in supporting our headquarters and retail stores. This role requires a strong understanding of systems engineering principles, networking, and hardware deployment, with a practical approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced retail setting.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Hardware Deployment and Configuration:
    • Design, build, and deploy hardware solutions for end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and specialized hardware
    • Manage the lifecycle of hardware assets, from procurement and deployment to maintenance and decommissioning.
    • Build virtual servers in partnership with Systems Engineering.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to retail and corporate operations.
  • System Integration:
    • Integrate new hardware and systems into existing infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and performance.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, integration procedures, and hardware specifications.
    • Collaborate with networking teams to ensure seamless network connectivity for integrated systems.
    • Perform system performance monitoring and optimization, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Application Integration and User Access:
    • Assist in the integration of third-party applications with internal systems, primarily focusing on the system dependencies.
    • Manage user access and permissions for integrated systems, adhering to security policies and best practices.
    • Configure and troubleshoot end-user applications, providing support as needed.
  • Project Management and Collaboration:
    • Participate in cross-functional projects, collaborating with other IT teams and business departments.
    • Contribute to the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and issue resolution.
    • Document all changes and installations and provide training to store level staff when needed.
  • Troubleshooting and Support:
    • Respond to and resolve escalated support tickets
    • Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides.
    • Participate in on-call rotations as required.

Physical Demands:

This position is primarily sedentary. Applicants, with or without accommodations, must be able to sit for extended periods, as well as occasionally stand and walk. The role requires reaching, grasping, and possessing fine motor skills for typing. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift light objects, such as files, bend or stoop to access lower drawers, and have good near vision for computer work.
