Position Summary:
Responsible for the strategic oversight, stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the Company’s enterprise data platforms, including database administration and data warehouse operations. Ensures secure, scalable, and highly available data environments that support business applications, analytics, and enterprise reporting while aligning with overall technology and business objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and provide leadership and operational oversight for all enterprise database platforms, including Oracle, Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), and related data technologies.
- Manage the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise data warehouse environments to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Ensure high availability, system integrity, security, backup and recovery readiness, and disaster recovery/business continuity preparedness for all managed platforms.
- Manage, mentor, and develop Database Administrators and Data Platform professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Establish and maintain best practices for database monitoring, alerting, patch management, capacity planning, performance tuning, and operational governance.
- Manage initiatives focused on reducing incidents, improving service delivery, and enhancing system stability.
- Partner closely with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Application Development, Integration, Data Analytics, and Business Intelligence teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable data services.
- Support enterprise data governance initiatives by ensuring data platforms comply with security, retention, availability, and architectural standards.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve performance, efficiency, scalability, and business value.
- Develop and maintain technical roadmaps, standards, and documentation for enterprise database and data platform environments.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for critical database and data platform incidents and lead remediation efforts when necessary.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Success Measures:
- Consistently achieve database and data platform availability targets in accordance with established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Reduce operational incidents and improve Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) through proactive monitoring and process improvements.
- Successfully execute and validate disaster recovery and business continuity testing on an ongoing basis.
- Improve system performance, scalability, security, and overall platform stability.
- Identify and eliminate single points of failure while strengthening resiliency across the data environment.
- Deliver successful modernization, automation, and cloud-readiness initiatives in alignment with the enterprise technology roadmap.
- Maintain strong customer satisfaction and service levels with application, analytics, and business stakeholders.
- Foster effective partnerships across IT and business functions to enable data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Develop a high-performing team that demonstrates technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong expertise in Oracle database administration, including performance tuning, capacity planning, backup/recovery, and system optimization.
- Extensive experience managing enterprise database and data warehouse environments in complex, business-critical organizations.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop teams, manage priorities, and drive operational excellence.
- Strong ownership mentality with a focus on accountability, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with database monitoring, performance management, disaster recovery (DR), business continuity (BC), and high-availability architectures.
- Preferred experience with cloud-based database platforms, infrastructure automation, and DevOps practices.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex technical issues, exercise sound judgment, and make practical business-focused decisions.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively across IT, business, analytics, and application development teams.
- Results-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities, execute projects effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-directed and capable of leading mission-critical initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented, resourceful, adaptable, and organized, with the ability to remain effective under pressure and changing business demands.

Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years administering Oracle Databases
- A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
Work Environment:
This position is located in Charlotte, NC and the candidate must be willing to relocate, if not already in the Charlotte Metro area.
Working primarily in an office environment.
