Job Overview:

The HR Assistant will support the Human Resources Department in providing exceptional service to employees in the company. The HR Assistant will also serve as a liaison between HR and Store Managers as they hire new employees and navigate HR systems.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answering the HR phone line and managing the HR email ticketing system.
  • Perform administrative tasks and provide support to the entire HR department.
  • Guide Store Managers as needed in completing new hire paperwork.
  • Audit New Hire Packets and documentation as they are received from the stores.
  • Assist with Compliance; I-9’s, Gov Docs and state work permits.
  • Update databases with employee information and changes as needed.
  • Troubleshoot for inquiries regarding Employee Self Service system.
  • Sort and distribute mail appropriately throughout the department.
  • Serve as a backup receptionist for breaks and lunch as needed.
  • Prepare and compile reports and spreadsheets efficiently.
  • Assist other members of the department as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience level: 1-3 years’ experience in Human Resources or office administration
  • Certifications: HR Certification Preferred but not required
  • Necessary skills: Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve programs in a timely manner; Must possess strong interpersonal skills; Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees, members of the HR management team, and in group presentations and meetings; Must be able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information; Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently; Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality; Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback

Physical Demands:

  • This position is primarily sedentary. Applicants, with or without accommodations, must be able to sit for extended periods, as well as occasionally stand and walk. The role requires reaching, grasping, and possessing fine motor skills for typing. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift light objects, such as files, bend or stoop to access lower drawers, and have good near vision for computer work.

Work Environment:

  • Office environment, Hybrid in office 4 days a week.
