The Oracle Applications DBA serves as a liaison between functional end-users, line-of-business IT Management and the implementation/upgrade teams, as well as Oracle Support.  Primary job functions: review, evaluate, design, implement and maintain Rack Room’s Oracle Financial/HR System Databases as it relates specifically to licensed products within the Oracle EBusiness Suite.  Basic duties include space management, security, tuning and database software upgrades.  

Job Functions

  • Configures, monitors, troubleshoots, performance tunes, clones, patches, and upgrades the Oracle Enterprise Business Suite (EBS) application for effective business operations and administration.
  • Performs Oracle EBS Applications database administration (EBS-DBA) tasks including regulatory and compliance patching, creating backup and recovery strategies, upgrading application and framework, performance tuning/optimization of the Oracle EBS systems.
  • Reviews, develops, recommends, enforces, and adheres to system/database policies and standards for Rack Room. Controls applications security and user profiles.
  • Maintain a multi-node E-Business Suite environment on Oracle Linux hosted and shared file system, managing and administering Concurrent Managers, Concurrent Programs, Request Sets, Request Groups, Workflows, and troubleshooting Workflow Mailer/Notification issues.
  • Maintain and develop standard operating procedures for Oracle EBS application software for software management, cloning, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Install packages, procedures, functions as requested by development and operational teams.
  • Support developers and analysts with objects, data structures, and assist with application performance issues.
  • Manage database security; Adding/Removing users, maintain data access and database roles
  • Perform database level maintenance, space management, and sql tuning.
  • Work after-hours and on-call when required.
  • Communicate and interact frequently with team associates and business contacts, including maintaining cross-support procedures for other IT personnel.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of technical experience on Oracle eBusiness Suite products.
  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or technical training equivalent
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle EBS R12 application administration, Oracle Linux operating system, experience with installation, configuration, cloning, and upgrades, using Oracle EBS R12 Applications DBA (AD) utilities and other tools to apply patches and system updates.
  • Extensive experience in Oracle EBS R12 Payroll
  • Experience with Vertex
  • Proficiencies in Oracle Fusion Middleware, administration of middle-tier, and DMZ architectures
  • Technical training in supporting programming languages (SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Good communication skills for assessing and resolving on user-community issues
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented, demanding, multi-priority environment, both independently and as part of a team
