Logistics Outbound Manager/Specialist

Position Summary:  The person in this position will primarily monitor and manage all shipments to Rack Room Shoes Customers and Stores. In this role you will serve as a liaison between Carriers, Store Operation, Distribution Centers, Vendors, Buying, Omni-Channel, and AP Departments.  This position is located at our Charlotte, NC Headquarters.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all shipments to RRS Stores and Marketplaces (B2B), and Direct to Customers (B2C)
• Support tracking and tracing of Small Parcel and Pool Distribution shipments to Stores from our own, and vendor partners distribution centers
• Monitor e-commerce and Marketplace order fulfillment and return process from/to stores and the Distribution Center(s)
• Constantly review and optimize outbound shipments / modes in respect to service, performance, and cost
• Create flexible options in respect to transportation service modes (e.g. Pool vs Small Parcel during Peak)
• Review service contracts with existing partners, initiate carrier bids, and lead negotiations with existing and new carriers
• Keep carriers and partners informed about changes in company requirements
• Manage and explore further expansion of Pool Distribution in partnership with Store Ops
• Approve FedEx invoices for Accounts Payable
• Enter and maintain carrier account numbers and information in Main Entry
• Analyze data to identify areas of concern, and suggest improvements
• Participate in special projects related to outbound distribution and shipments
• Network with carriers, vendor partners and piers within the (retail) industry to stay current with developments in parcel and pool distribution
• Constantly inform and communicate with internal parties (Store Ops, Buying, Omnichannel, IT, AP, Logistics, …) about relevant changes, and to discuss potential adjustments and solutions

 

Requirements:

• At least 3+ years of experience in B2B and B2C fulfillment and pricing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Attention to details
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Additional experience in freight transportation and/or distribution shipping/receiving is beneficial
• Transportation management systems knowledge as a plus
• Knowledge around Micro Strategy
