Position Description:
The Marketing Project Manager leads the planning, prioritization, and execution of integrated marketing initiatives across multiple concurrent project streams. This role partners with cross-functional teams to move work from intake through launch, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on brand, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate brings strong project leadership, experience applying Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and proficiency in Adobe Workfront or similar project management platforms to manage timelines, dependencies, approvals, resources, and stakeholder communication.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end management of multiple marketing projects and campaign workstreams, from intake and scoping through execution, launch, and closeout.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define scope, deliverables, timelines, priorities, and resource needs for each initiative.
- Develop and maintain project plans, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, and blockers to ensure timely delivery.
- Use Adobe Workfront to manage project schedules, workflows, assignments, intake requests, and reporting across multiple active workstreams, while evaluating existing processes to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and consistency.
- Apply Agile and Waterfall methodologies as appropriate to project scope, complexity, and business needs.
- Audit current marketing workflows and processes to identify inefficiencies, recommend adjustments, and support implementation and team education to improve ways of working.
- Facilitate weekly stand up meetings for content and creative teams, communicate status updates, align stakeholders on next steps, and ensure feedback is addressed efficiently.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven experience managing cross-functional marketing or creative projects in a fast-paced brand, retail, or agency environment.
- Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies and when to apply each effectively.
- Ability to understand existing processes and workflows, assess effectiveness, identify efficiency opportunities, and help educate teams on adopted process improvements.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive alignment and resolve issues proactively.
- Retail marketing experience preferred, including familiarity with integrated campaign execution across digital CRM, PR, in-store, content, and creative channels.
- Ability to manage full streams of work across multiple projects at once.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3–5+ years of project management experience, including oversight of multiple complex projects and timelines simultaneously.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated relevant work experience.
- Project management certifications are preferred, including PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent Agile or project management certification.
- Hands-on experience with Adobe Workfront strongly preferred, including workflow management, project setup, and reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with reporting, status communication, and resource planning tools is a plus.
Physical Demands:
This position is primarily sedentary. Applicants, with or without accommodations, must be able to sit for extended periods, as well as occasionally stand and walk. The role requires reaching, grasping, and possessing fine motor skills for typing. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift light objects, such as files, bend or stoop to access lower drawers, and have good near vision for computer work.
Work Environment:
- This position is located in Charlotte, NC and the candidate must be willing to relocate, if not already in the Charlotte Metro area.
