Summary of Job:
Acts as the senior technical engineer leading investigations, remediation, and improvements in detection and response.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead complex investigations
- Drive remediation across teams
- Improve detection and monitoring
- Identify control gaps
- Mentor junior engineers
Knowledge, Ability and Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network Security administration, Cyber security architecture and network security protocols, cyber security and data protection. Knowledge of PCI standard is required.
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in IT discipline (computer related field with Cybersecurity emphasis)
- At least 6-10 years of industry-related practical experience as a Network and Cybersecurity Engineer.
- Network or Cybersecurity production support with user emphasis.
- Must be able to work with a team, but also autonomously as needed.
- Working experience with Cisco routers, switches, Wi-Fi controllers and firewalls is required.
- Working experience with Cybersecurity tools and platforms’ (Cisco preferred).
- Good understanding of penetration testing methodologies, Vulnerability scanning and remediation.
- Experience in the following areas: incident response, cyber threat hunting, and cyber security analytics.
- Strong knowledge of advanced cyber threats and adversary methodologies.
- An explorer - curious and investigative, analytical and methodical problem solver, strong student of discipline, ethical and reliable.
- Must be able to work well under pressure of impending deadlines and able to recognize and act on the priority of work assigned
- Must have a good attitude and work with everyone with professionalism.
- A strong communicator
Work Environment:
- The work environment includes typical computer-related noise with exposure to computer hardware and video screens. It is fast paced with production issues dictating and changing work priorities. Incumbent is on call to provide support services during off hours. Scheduled night and weekend work is required. You must be energetic and self-motivated to keep up.
- This position is located in Charlotte, NC and the candidate must be willing to relocate, if not already in the Charlotte Metro area.
Working primarily in an office environment.
Physical Demands:
- This position is primarily sedentary. Applicants, with or without accommodations, must be able to sit for extended periods, as well as occasionally stand and walk. The role requires reaching, grasping, and possessing fine motor skills for typing. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift light objects, such as files, bend or stoop to access lower drawers, and have good near vision for computer work.
