Position Summary:

Develop, maintain, document and support Java-based web applications and services for various departments throughout the company.  Individual will participate in all phases of the software development life cycle for applications that are supported.

Essential Functions:

• Develop, implement and support a wide variety of Java-based web applications and services.
• Work closely with business partners to develop application requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide production support of existing applications.
• Linux application server maintenance, automation and troubleshooting tasks.
• Work with system administrators, DBAs, and computer operations staff to ensure smooth implementation and support of applications.
• Must have the ability to support production in off-hours and participate in an on-call rotation during holidays and other peak times.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent business experience in a related field.
• One to three years experience developing and supporting Java-based web applications and services required.
• One to three years of production-level experience with Linux, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux required.
• One to three years experience with Oracle databases or a comparable relational database engine required. PL/SQL knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with web and front-end technologies including HTML 5, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, AJAX, and Bootstrap required.
• Experience with Spring Framework, JSP, and Hibernate is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of mobile application frameworks including Flutter and/or Cordova is a plus.
• Firm understanding of Java and Spring architectural design and accepted design patterns preferred.
• Development experience with REST APIs, web services, microservices, JSON and XML is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of Apache Tomcat is a plus.
• Experience with Atlassian tools including Bitbucket and Bamboo and knowledge of continuous integration principals is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Linux shell scripting is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented, demanding, multi-priority environment, both independently and as part of a team is essential.
• Ability to work closely with business partners at multiple levels using excellent communications skills is a must.
• Retail industry background is helpful.

Physical Demands:

This position is primarily sedentary. Applicants, with or without accommodations, must be able to sit for extended periods, as well as occasionally stand and walk. The role requires reaching, grasping, and possessing fine motor skills for typing. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift light objects, such as files, bend or stoop to access lower drawers, and have good near vision for computer work.

Work Environment:

• This position is located in Charlotte, NC and the candidate must be willing to relocate, if not already in the Charlotte Metro area.
• Working primarily in an office environment.
