Summary:

At Rack Room Shoes, we're dedicated to delivering exceptional shopping experiences both in-store and online. We're seeking a dynamic Senior Copywriter to craft compelling copy that resonates across multiple customer touchpoints and aligns with our overall brand narrative. This role serves as a content expert on best practices, leading initiatives and collaborating cross functionally with various teams to ensure that all copy is optimized for both customer engagement and search engine performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a strong understanding of the voice and tone for Rack Room Shoes brand
• Distill brand narrative, brand style guidelines, SEO best practices, consumer insights and legal considerations to deliver balanced, consistent copy
• Manage the evolving brand guidelines, owning tone of voice, grammatical consistencies and best practices to ensure they being followed across all customer-facing messaging
• Craft engaging content and promotional copy for email campaigns including subject lines, pre-headers and SMS
• Collaborate with brand marketers and site merchandisers to bring to life the strategy of each campaign, helping develop taglines and other key messaging for featured products and promos
• Create and manage copy for various social media platforms (paid and organic), ensuring alignment with our brand voice and strategy
• Write copy for e-commerce site, including homepage features, category pages, and landing pages
• Implement SEO best practices and relevant language/keywords to help increase site traffic and product discovery
• Contribute to content planning and strategy, including identifying new content opportunities and trends
• Proofread and edit all creative and marketing content to ensure accuracy and clarity
• Engage in weekly reviews with stakeholders and team leaders, incorporate feedback swiftly and deliver creative solutions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a copywriter, preferably with a focus on retail and e-commerce
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills adhering to AP style
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and best practices for online retail
• Understanding of SEO principles and experience with keyword research and optimization
• Strong conceptual ability to create engaging and persuasive content that captures the brand's voice and appeals to target audiences.
• Creative thinker who is ambitious, adaptable and responds positively to feedback
• Keen ability to collaborate broadly — Build cooperation, trust, and thrive in a consensus driven environment
• Cultivate innovation by respectfully challenging the "we’ve always done it this way" mentality and explore new ways to achieve desired outcomes
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
